Vintage mid-century modern handled vase or pitcher manufactured by Scheurich Keramik in West Germany. The base imprint provides specific identification details: 484-27. W.GERMANY: Indicates it was manufactured during the post-WWII era. Scheurich was one of the most prolific producers of West German Art Pottery during the 1960s and 1970s. While the company is famously associated with highly textured, thick "Fat Lava" glazes, this specific piece utilizes a smoother, satin-matte brown glaze peppered with dark speckles to give it a rustic, natural earthenware appearance. It's a really nice piece, haven't seen one quite in this style previously. It measures 26cm x 15cm wide
