Victorian-era bride's bank (also widely known as a bridal crown or flower frog). Originating in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it historically served two primary purposes. During traditional Victorian wedding receptions, guests would slip money, coins, or paper notes through the open arches of the crown into the hollow glass base as a gift to help the newlyweds start their new life together. When not being used as a bridal bank, the open looped arches served as a built-in flower frog. The glass loops perfectly separate and support individual flower stems, turning the vessel into an elegant centerpiece vase. This is a nice piece of history in great condition.
