This ornate metal ewer and tray set is a vintage Italian "Peltrato" collectable, dating from the mid-20th century. While it has a gold-toned appearance similar to brass, "Peltrato" is actually an Italian term for pewter. These pieces are often composed of 90% tin (indicated by stamp "Peltrato 90) and may feature a brass or gold-plated finish to achieve their color. The set features elaborate Rococo or Art Nouveau relief work, depicting cherubs and rams and scrolling acanthus leaves
