A set of 3 mugs that read "Nykel" on the base identifying them as the collectable m work of the Danish-born artist Vagn Nykel. Vagn Nykel trained as a master potter in Denmark before migrating to Australia, where he established a highly regarded studio workshop in Melbourne. He held his debut Australian exhibition there in 1969. Nykel is celebrated for his mid-century modern and 1970s studio pottery, specializing in wheel-thrown functional stoneware. His signature aesthetic features organic, tapered or hourglass silhouettes finished with rich, earthy, multi-tonal drip glazes or speckled finishes. Price is for all 3 mugs
